Fasteners FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do you make standoff spacers as well as fasteners?

Yes. Threaded standoffs, spacers and glass standoffs are a regular line, produced in brass, stainless steel and aluminium. Send the length, thread and head style and it is quoted to that.

Can you produce non-standard fasteners?

Yes, and most of what runs here is non-standard. Threads are cut to customer requirement rather than to a fixed catalogue, so unusual lengths, drives and head forms are routine.

Why choose brass fasteners over steel?

Brass fasteners are naturally corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic, electrically conductive and attractive, ideal for electrical, marine, decorative and moisture-exposed assemblies where plated steel would corrode or interfere electrically.

What thread standards do you make brass fasteners in?

We produce brass fasteners in UNC, UNF, metric (M), BSW, BA and custom threads to your drawing, with class-2A/6g or tighter thread fits as specified.

Do you supply lead-free brass fasteners?

Yes. Low-lead and eco-brass grades are available where RoHS, drinking-water or medical compliance is required, with documentation provided on request.

Can you make custom or non-standard brass fasteners?

Yes. Send a drawing or sample and we'll manufacture custom nuts, bolts, screws, studs or standoffs to your exact dimensions, thread, head style and finish.

What finishes are available on brass fasteners?

Natural brass, nickel, chrome, tin, zinc, silver or gold plating, plus polishing and anti-tarnish treatments, all RoHS-compliant where required.
