Questions, answered.
What materials do you turn?
Brass, stainless steel, copper and aluminium as standard, plus other engineering alloys to your specification. The material is quoted from the grade on your drawing rather than substituted.
Do you machine parts other than brass?
Yes. The IATF 16949 certificate covers machined metal components generally, not brass alone, and stainless, copper and aluminium are all in regular production.
What tolerances can you hold on brass turned parts?
We routinely hold ±0.02 mm, and tighter on critical features, with Swiss and precision CNC turning. Send your drawing and we'll confirm capability against your critical dimensions and surface finish.
What is the difference between CNC turning and Swiss turning?
CNC turning suits a broad range of part sizes and geometries; Swiss (sliding-head) turning excels at long, slender, high-precision parts in high volume. We run both, plus multi-spindle for high-volume simple parts.
Do you machine complex multi-axis brass parts?
Yes. Beyond turning we offer CNC milling and multi-axis machining for prismatic and complex brass components, with turn-mill and secondary operations as required.
Can you produce brass prototypes and high volumes?
Yes. We support single prototypes through to millions of parts on special-purpose machines, quoting the most cost-effective process for your volume.
What surface finishes are available on machined brass parts?
As-machined, polished, or plated (nickel, chrome, tin and more). Specify an Ra target and we'll match the finishing process to it.
